Cliff Melton

Clifford George Melton (January 3, 1912 – July 28, 1986) was a professional baseball player. He was a left-handed pitcher over parts of eight seasons (1937–1944) with the New York Giants. For his career, he compiled an 86–80 record in 272 appearances, with an 3.42 earned run average and 660 strikeouts. Melton was a member of the 1937 Giants team that won the National League pennant before losing to the New York Yankees in the World Series. In World Series play, Melton was 0–2 in three appearances (two starts), with a 4.91 earned run average and seven strikeouts. He was named to the National League All-Star team in 1942.
Melton was born in Brevard, North Carolina and later died in Baltimore, Maryland at the age of 74.
Melton had two different nicknames: Mickey Mouse, and Mountain Music.
The first time in major-league history that two brothers hit back-to-back home runs was on September 15, 1938. The pitcher was Melton: the batters were Lloyd Waner and Paul Waner. The second time was not until April 23, 2013, when B.J.Upton and Justin Upton homered against Jon Garland.
